Ememobong Okon Udoh, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer, Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages, University of Uyo, Nigeria. His areas of expertise are Phonetics, Phonology and Language Documentation. As a linguist with specialty in Phonetics and Phonology, he is keenly interested in the documentation and description of lesser-known languages of Africa. He is particularly interested in the Prosodic Morphology of some Lower Cross languages with reference to their morphological operations. This has also pushed his interest to the Prosodic Morphology of pet/nick names in English and Nigerian languages, which also have to do with duplication of morphemes and other attendant phonological issues. In as much as his major area of Linguistics is morpho-phonology, he also has a specific penchant for Language Technology, with specific focus on computational modeling of reduplicative phenomena in Lower Cross and other less studied African languages. Research Projects he has Managed/Participated in the Last 5 Years include: Lead Researcher, 2016-2018 TETFUND Research Project Intervention on Linguistic Vitality and Endangerment: A UNESCO-Scale Survey of the Akwa Ibom State languages (awarded in October 2019), African Humanities Program (AHP) Postdoctoral Research Scholar on Interaction of Mapping Patterns and Constraints in Anaañ and Efik Reduplication, sponsored by the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) - awarded in November 2022.
